By Jehrico76
Bottom line up front - These things are spectacular! I've had these for a few months, and I'm still happy. These are exactly what I've been looking for over the last few years.Pros: Excellent build quality, much improved sound quality, better battery life, and superior blue-tooth connectivity.Cons: Excessive sweat will have a significant impact on performance. Can't get these to fit quite as perfectly as their predecessors, but this is likely particular to me and your mileage will vary.I have a previous review of the Jaybird Freedom Sprints, which I purchased off of Amazon. In short, I found the Sprints to be engineered for the active gym rat, but they performed poorly for those who preferred to run outdoors. Sound quality was subpar in my opinion, and blue tooth performance was simply horrible, even when I wore my MP3 player high on my right arm. I sent them back, and ordered these as soon as I was able to get them at be$tbuy, who had these a few months earlier than Amazon. These excel in every area the Freedom Sprints fell short, without sacrificing performance in any of the areas the Freedom Sprints excelled. They have the same quality feel, as if they spared no cost in physically engineering the perfect headset for both the outdoors running enthusiast and the indoors gym rat.Whereas the Freedom Sprints to me had the sound quality of an average FM radio station, these sound as good as many wired headphones playing a high-def sound track. This is a major upgrade in terms of sound quality, not a marginal one. The Freedom Sprints also performed horribly outdoors, as they would frequently lose connection with your player, even if you had the player high on your right arm as advised. I can put my player in my left sock and run with minimal dropping. I typically pair my Bluebuds with my Motoactv on my left wrist, and I have no problems with connectivity dropping, regardless of whether I'm indoors or outside. I can not confirm the 8 hour battery life. I charge these every three to four days, and I work out for 1 to 1.5 hours a day. I've never had them get low on me.I've also used these to talk as a wireless headset for a cell phone, and they work great in that regards too, so long as you have them configured to come up under the ears instead of going over the ears, which would put the microphone on the left side high above your ear. I typically don't use that feature, so it's not a big deal.I prefer to configure these so they go over the top of my ears, so I wear them backwards (right side in the left ear, etc). Just a personal preference, you can wear them over or under. I only have two complaints about these, but neither complaint is sufficient to give this less than 5 stars. I would give them a 4.8 if possible. But, I can't get these to fit quite as well as the freedom sprints. I would have thought the tips were the same as the sprints, but they just don't fit me as well as the sprints, whose medium tips fit like they were custom molded for me. These would be perfect if they had flanged tips like you get with many Etymotics ear buds. The only other complaint I have is if you sweat profusely and sweat gets on these in your ears, they'll start to short out. Since I can't get a perfect fit, some sweat gets in my ears and these will cut out. Once I let them dry out, they're okay again the next day I use them. I wear a headband now with these and have not had any problems with sweat since. All in all, these are simply the best runners headphones on the market, and well worth the additional cost over the Freedom Sprints. I recommend you use a headband if you sweat alot. Jaybird, if you're monitoring these reviews, please make some flanged or sponge tips for these, then they'd be absolutely perfect!

So after searching for a couple of weeks in hopes of replacing my now dead Motorola S9-HD, I came across this little product. I picked it up at a local store, we will call "Super Purchases," and gave it a try.Pros:It sounds fantastic. It is small. It has a really long battery life. It has a lifetime warranty against sweat (major plus). It appears to be well made.Cons:It was impossible (for me) to find a good fit. When I finally did, I went to the gym and gave this a test run. After about 1 minute of running, the ear-buds kept coming loose though not falling. Here's where things begin to be an issue. When the ear-buds do not sit "right," the sound quality suffers. Once I pushed them back in to the ear, the good sound, deep base, good highs and mids came right back. About a minute later, it went away because they would simply not sit in the ear correctly. The other con is, it is very expensive.I tried different combinations of over the ear/under; different cushions and ear holders but unfortunately nothing worked. The sound degrades so badly, it goes from a $170 ear bud to $10 one.I gave it 3 stars because I think it is a good product and might work for some people. Unfortunately for me, it didn't work enough to justify such a high price tag. I returned them.

I have owned these since for over 2 months so I feel it's time to share my opinion. I work overnights in a food store so I get to use these for 8 potential hours every night. Listening fairly loud I get around 6 or 7 hours of battery life. It's noise isolating so it's hard to hear people talking or PA announcements with them on. After some use, they do come loose. Just remove and reinsert every 1/2 hour or so. No big deal. They are not heavy feeling in my ears but they are much bigger and heavier than wired buds, so if I you like having one bud in the ear and the other dangling down your chest the heavy weight will pull and be uncomfortable. With both buds around your neck, not in ears they don't seem to be weighted the same so constant adjustment is required so they don't fall down. The range is amazing. The rated 30ft seems to be a understatement, but it may start breaking up after 30ft. I can walk down to 5 aisles away and realize I forgot my phone. The sound is hard for me to objectively put into words because I am not a audiophile. They definitely sound as good as ~$50 wired buds. I have to say they probably won't be a better sounding bluetooth headphone until a new technology on both the phone and headphone side comes out. These are in ear buds so you need a good seal and deep fit for optimum sound. These have a insane amount of possible configurations, I encourage you to start with behind the neck, no wings first. Yes the wings (very soft in case you were wondering) in the picture are totally optional. If you are unhappy, experiment with the wings, different sizes and finally the over the ear cord shorteners mode. The cord shorteners are simply these tiny lego type bricks that when properly positioned wraps the cord back and forth so you don't have a cord flapping at you while working out. It reverses the stereo channels and for that reason alone I didn't like it. Also it is very time consuming to set up, and if you need to have them dangling around the neck - good luck not having them fall and be lost or stepped on. You also lose the mic and the buttons are hard to operate in this arrangement. It also requires bending the cord at extreme angles, not a good idea for a expensive product. The cord is flat and has good memory so they always snap back in the same position which is just a tad bit annoying bend the neck. The cord does not wilt easily. The case is probably my biggest grip about the product only for it's big size. You need a fanny pack or cargo pants to comfortably store it on your person. I finally figured out how to properly use the case just last week. In the case there is a elastic band on one side. Fold the headphones once, then again. There should be 2 U shapes. Tuck in head phone end into the band, and you should easily be able close the clam case. Before I learned this, I ignored the band part and would end up stuffing the headphones in.No earbud company covers abuse. So if you constantly shove your buds into your front pocket, be happy you get a week of use until the product breaks. Protect you investment and use a case and you should be able to enjoy this for years to come.Charging takes about 2 hours, a 30 minute charge, according to the manual, is good for 90 minutes of use. There is a 15 minute warning before power off, which I feel is FAR too low for a product that has a 6-8 hour battery life. The LED status light is ONLY for charging, which is great - no gaudy blinking while in use - ever. If you power down before charging it stays off until you turn it back on. The females voice prompt voice is not robotic, and surprisingly pleasant. I don't use my phone as a actual telephone so I can't comment on the mic function.tl;dr... Good headphones, but very expensive. Buy them if you got the cash. If you want learn the little quirks, read my review.
