By A. Hawley
Since my first bluetooth-enabled phone, I've searched for a headset that would let me do three simple things: listen to media while riding my bike or working with my hands; take calls easily; and not have my callers begging me to get off the headset because they can't hear me.Is that asking so much? Apparently it is, because until the NoiseHush N550, I've spent more than the price of a high-tech smartphone trying in vain to find that holy grail. When I want soaring stereo music, I'll plug my wired Shure noise-cancelling earphones directly into my device. But I don't need soaring stereo music when I'm riding my bike--in fact, I never cycle with both ears plugged because that's just dumb. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts when I ride, and if a call comes in, I want to take it and then return to my story without any fuss.(That said, I *could* plug my expensive Shures into the clip module if I wanted, but let's face it: Bluetooth and soaring stereo music don't live in the same universe yet). The NoiseHush N550 clips securely on to my collar, placing the microphone stably near my mouth (not dangling around, brushing my jaw, my shirt-buttons, or my handlebars). It has a set of intuitive, easy controls (not One Magic Button whose working depends on decoding some series of blinks and blips and a time lag). It's lightweight and not too dorky looking, but the clip is firm and doesn't seem like it'll be breaking any time soon.My callers say I sound "pretty good"--and honestly, that's an improvement. If I sounded "fantastic" I'd give this device ten stars, but as it is, I'm giving it four because it's A-OK at doing what I bought it for.

By Jonathan Aud
I had been looking for a stereo Bluetooth headset with mic that I can use with my phone and Bluetooth adapter for the TV under $50 for a long time. This little device is exactly what I was looking for.It is small enough to fit into a caring case in my pocket, takes normal headphones/ear buds and has decent batter life (about 4 hours). If it had a dedicated on/off switch I would have given it 5 stars, as the same button used to connect it to other devices turns it off, and I sometimes find I left it on and the battery is dead when I go to use it.Yes, it is my fault for not turning it off, but I think a dedicated on/off switch would solve this problem. As far as functionality, it has separate increase and decrease volume controls and separate next and previous controls. The only other button controls turning the device on, setting it to pairing mode or turning it off.Hold the button for about 5 secs to connect to a previous paired device, 8 secs to set it to pairing mode and about 3 secs to turn it off when it is on.The ear buds that came with it are decent for phone calls and listening to the tv via bluetooth while walking around the apartment while trying to but a baby to sleep, but if you want full sized headphone sound you need a better set of ear buds/headphones. Since this device can accept any 3.5mm headphone jack, I don't see that being a problem, you just have to buy the fancy ear buds. So, this device is great for being so multifunctioned: Bluetooth phone mic and headset or just a Bluetooth Stereo headset for listening to music without wires.I plan to buy a second one soon.

By K. Brown
I thought this product would fit my needs for a bluetooth device for phone calls and to play music on my phone ... phone call sound quality is OK but I've got to go buy another product to listen to music on my phone ... no bass at all and the sound you get is hollow and echo-like ... you can use your own headphones if you want and my noise-cancelling, in-ear headphones were not able to help ... hope this review helps you.
