4Typical Plantronics Quality ...
By DACHokie
My first experience with a Plantronics Bluetooth headset was a Voyager 510 I purchased 2 1/2 years ago ... and I still am using it on my daily two hour commute to work. While the ear bud mechanism on that device has worn down over the years, my positive experience with overall quality of the headset has made me a big fan of Plantronics products and the M20 headset is no exception. While the Voyager 510 was (at the time) a high-end headset, I find the M20 more than a match for several reasons:1) Small and lightweight, the headset fits comfortably and securely.2) The earpiece design is contoured and rubberized ... a vast improvement over the typical sponge-covered ear bud in that it ensures a more snug/secure fit and isolates sound better.3) The sliding on-off switch is easier to access and operate than the push-button mechanism on the Voyager 510.4) Voice alerts indicate when the device has been turned on or off, as well as informing the user of the battery's power level (a welcome improvement over the typical beep/chirp alerts and guessing how much battery life remains). While the small size of the device makes it more comfortable to wear, those with large hands may find it cumbersome to access the on-off slide without accidently pressing other buttons on the headset. And athough I prefer the lower profile "arm" style headset, the long battery life, voice alerts, secure fit and decent sound quality of M20 won me over.

3Like(d) it a Lot (until it stopped working) UPDATED 1/19/12
By jt
UPDATE 01/19/2012: I liked this earpiece but, unfortunately, it stopped working on me after just over half a year of little to moderate use. It was not dropped or abused. I went to try and use it one day it wouldn't turn on. I went to charge it thinking it was a low battery but it didn't respond to the charger properly in terms of the lights that normally turn on to indicate charging. I contacted Plantronics and after a few canned email responses from them they said to send it back to them at my expense with the original purchase receipt. Since I got it through Vine I didn't have a purchase receipt. I wonder how many people who might have bought this at a brick and mortar store would have retained their paper receipt for an entire year? These companies have every ability to look up SN numbers and determine manufacture dates to see if it is out of warranty. I also think it is pretty weak that I would have to pay for return shipping. I took two stars off from my original five star rating because of durability and suspect customer service.I like this headset very much. I have a tendency to lose these things quite frequently. In turn, I have tried quite a few of them. The feature I really like about this high tech product is the low tech on/off slider switch it uses, the voice prompts, and how fast it connects to my iPhone when I turn it on. I don't particularly like the headsets that use one button to control every feature. There is no doubt if the headset is on and connected. No holding down a single button for various different times or double, triple, or quadruple tapping to do whatever function and never knowing if you did it right. A simple sliding switch... The sound quality is very good. I have not had any problems that I thought is was any worse then the Motorola (x?), Samsung, Sony, etc. that I have used in the past. I like the over the ear clip as it makes it feel more secure and tighter to my ear without feeling like you have to jam a bud in to your canal so that it won't fall out. It also feels sturdy. I have had headsets that either do fall apart (ear piece or bud), feel like they are going to break, or get bent out of shape when you put them in your pocket or bag. I drop this one in my pocket or backpack and I can dig it out without me having to rebuild it each time. At just over 30 bones, I would say this is a very good buy and would recommend it without hesitation.

5Long charge, decent quality
By Luke Waygood
Plantronics has a history with headsets - I work in a call center and am surrounded by their products all day. The M20 is a small, lightweight bluetooth headset. You'll want to charge it up before you use it. Once it's charged, it holds that charge for a surprisingly long time - for example, I didn't use it at all for at least a month after I charged it that first time, and it was still working just fine. Syncing it to my phone was really a breeze. The headset has a small on/off power switch - when you slide it to the "on" position, a female voice will tell you "Power on" and the status of the battery. Likewise, turning it off will also prompt the voice to tell you "Power off". Accepting a call is simple enough, just press the black ridged surface on top, and you end the call the same way. Those I spoke with said they could hear me fine, and I was amazed with the clarity of their voices...considering that the mic is by your ear, I'm surprised at how well it picked up my voice. My only complaint is the over-the-ear hoop - I always seem to have problems with them (although now I think I have them figured out). However, this is more a user problem rather than a defect in the product itself.Overall, I highly recommend this product.
