What does this device do? It allows you to connect ordinary home phones (corded or cordless) thru bluetooth wireless technology to share your cellular phone service (same number for all phones).I will try to make it simple for everyone. I just got mine hooked up and love it! So I am excited to sing its praises. This device is more for a single person or a couple (living alone) who each have cell phone service. So instead of having 2 cell numbers and a third home number (landline) what this device does is it syncs both cell phone numbers to any ordinary home phone or phones (not phone service). I use a 3 handset phone system plugged into this device. So now, when I return home, I place my cell phone on the shelf by the door in its charger and I can roam around my house and not be worried that I will miss a cell phone call either because I can't hear the cell phone ring or because I can't find where I left it in time. When a cell phone call is received by this device it shares that with the home phones, so all 4 now ring! And I can answer the call from any one of the home phone handsets around the house including my cell phone. The best part of this device, is now I can also lift any of the home phones (handsets) and hear a regular dialtone (the BT215 generates this) and place a call going thru my cellular service. I don't worry about using up my cell minutes because with MetroPCS I now have unlimited anytime minutes for $50 a month. Naturally when I leave home with my cell phone (good idea to have it charging near the door) the home phones will no longer ring or have outgoing service. Well, unless the BT215 is synced up with another persons cellular service also. It allows for two simultaneous bluetooth connections, if needed. Almost all modern cell phones have this bluetooth ability. That way the person who is left at home will still be able to receive and make calls on the home phones using their cellular service. It is really very ingenious!I had dropped my home phone service years ago, and kept missing calls because I would forget my cell phone on vibrate or just not hear it ring from the other room. Finally with this gadget, I can say for sure, I will no longer have that problem.Another added benefit for me is if a guest picks up a phone, now they get a dial tone and can make a call without me having to explain that I have no home service. There is no longer a need for me to hand them my personal cell phone. Using this device makes it just as good as having a landline in my situation. It isn't for everyone, especially big families but few products ever are. This Cobra PhoneLynx device is perfect for those individuals wanting the convenience of using regular phones about the house but also having them share a single number with your cell phone. And only receive one bill each month as an added benefit. It simplifies things tremendously for me, I've been waiting for them to design this exact product ever since I dropped my home phone service years ago.I give this product, my favorite gadget of the year award! Now if you still want to maintain a landline also, they do make cordless phone systems now with bluetooth integration that allow you to also answer your cellular calls from these home phone systems BUT buying such a system would have been wasteful for me since I already owned a cordless home phone system and I didn't need the extra digital voice message recorder which those units provide since I get free voice mail service included with my cell phone service. So this very affordable device does everything I was hoping for, and more! It has something called "clear call" technology which filters out static from the phone conversation so it makes talking even more enjoyable. Increased call quality was an unexpected extra from this product! Bravo Cobra!I am very impressed by what you have created here, Thank You so much!Anthony:)

OK, here is the basic idea of the Cobra PhoneLynx bluetooth system. You have a cell phone and can connect it to landline phones by using the Cobra PhoneLynx. Why do you need this? You do not need to look for your cell phone while you are at home and can place your cell phone in a place that gets the best reception. The Cobra PhoneLynx and your cell phone is connected by Bluetooth, so if your cell phone does not have Bluetooth feature, you are out of luck. Fortunately, most cell phones available now have Bluetooth capability and pre-paid cell phones even come with Bluetooth feature these days. Now you got the idea. The pairing between the Cobra PhoneLynx and the cell phone was pretty straightforward and once you pair it, you do not need to do it again. The Cobra PhoneLynx has a standard phone port that you can connect your home phones including cordless phones here. In my case, I connected the Cobra PhoneLynx to the wall mounted phone port directly by using a normal telephone code (RJ-11) and because of this wiring, every phone in my home is linked to the Cobra PhoneLynx (I do not have any landline phone service at home. If you have one, you might have a problem. Please see the comments below). After I paired my cell phone to the Cobra PhoneLynx, if there is a phone call to my cell phone, every landline phone in my home starts to ring. Now, my wife does not need to run from the bedroom in the second floor to the kitchen where my wife usually leaves her cell phone just to take a call. And my daughter does not need to borrow her mom's cell phone, since she can use a phone in her room. My wife and daughter cannot use the phone at the same time, though. You can make and receive a call from the phone connected to the Cobra PhoneLynx and you are using up your cell phone minutes unless it is night or weekends that are usually free.I love the idea of this device, however, there are two drawbacks to point out. The first one is that whenever we return home from outside, we are asked to pair the phone to the Cobra PhoneLynx (it appears on the cell phone display whether I allow to pair the phone). I tested with cell phones from different makers and the result was the same. I wish the Cobra PhoneLynx paired with the cell phones automatically. The second one is that the Cobra PhoneLynx is not stable. Sometimes, we picked up the phone connected to the Cobra PhoneLynx and did not hear anything. I heard that the other party could hear us but we could not hear anything. Not often, but still a problem. Also, it generates some static noise with a certain cordless phone. I gave the Cobra PhoneLynx to my friend to give it a try and he said that he had some noise from his cordless phone when the phone was connected to the Cobra PhoneLynx. Can these problems be fixed by a firmware update or something like that? I do not know. Because of thses problems, my wife hesitates to use the Cobra PhoneLynx at home now.The Cobra PhoneLynx is a very cool device. If it worked flawlessly without having problems mentioned above, I definitely will be using it whenever I am home. Until then, the Cobra PhoneLynx is a 3 star device for me.== UpdatePlease see the comments below regarding the automatic connection issue and the cordless phone interference problem. I am grateful for the people who provided the valuable information

With a product like the Cobra PhoneLynx Bluetooth Cell to Home Phone Connection System in most cases it either works or it doesn't, in my case it does. There is very little setup for the unit. You plug in the power supply, plug the "land line" phone into the unit, then find and connect to the Phonelynx on your Bluetooth enabled phone. All of this worked just right for me and I was up and running in a flash. I have not ended my land line service yet as I wanted to test this system first, but I plan to within the next 30 days. So far the unit's operation has been basically transparent. I placed my cell phone (Blackberry Curve)charger near my land line phone (Panasonic expandable cordless). When I come home I throw the phone on the charger and I'm ready to go. The calls are the same sound quality over the home phone or the cell. As you know, if you've used Bluetooth devices before, they don't always cooperate in setting up. As long as this one does for you, it will do the job. If not, just return it. This is a reasonably priced gateway and it wors fine.
