4Decent with some caveats.
By DOBrien
*Update at the end of the review!*Allow me to start off by saying that I was looking for a cheap bluetooth headset here on Amazon. Notice the word "cheap". This wasn't almost a hundred bucks like some available on Amazon, it wasn't even $50. This is a low-cost bluetooth, and your expectations shouldn't be too high. That said, I'm relatively pleased!PROS- Plays nicely with the iPhone- Handsfree calling- Cableless music playback- Comes with headphones*- Very intuitive to set-up and use**- Sound quality is definitely manageable- Clip is strong, holds even while jogging- Can be used with any 3.5mm headphones (the reason I bought it!)CONS- * Headphones are pretty bad. Kind of uncomfortable and the sound is only manageable for an hour at most.- **Counter-intuitive volume/track controls. Volume up is on the same side as previous track.- Proprietary charger. It's 2012, nobody wants to carry around 15 different cables all the time.- My battery life sits at around 3 hours. Not bad for working out, taking longer walks and long telephone conversations. Audio books - not so much.I love being able to store my iPhone in my backpack while I jog with just this little receiver clipped on to one of the straps. It makes everything SO much easier. As I mentioned, the headphones are really not ideal (you will want different ones), and the receiver itself has good sound quality when played through more expensive audio solutions. I'm not sure what the range is like on this thing - I almost always have my iPhone within a foot or two - but I have dealt with any loss of transmission, and people have told me that the mic quality is clear if not on par with the iPhone. The cons aren't enough to make me drop this down to 3-stars, and I would still recommend it, but I would definitely advise the company who created this to get with the times. Apple gets to use proprietary chargers because they sold 200 Million iDevices in 2011 - the rest of you however should be using standard USB protocols (and I would love Apple to switch too).OVERALLIt's a very decent little bluetooth receiver for a fabulous price. Once you get used to the issues mentioned, it's not difficult to use and so far hasn't failed. I will update the review for longevity, but for now this is definitely recommended!!!*UPDATE*After quite a few months of near daily use, I am still enjoying my purchase! It works very well with my Macbook and Mac Pro, so I can use this for Skype while I work with clients. I ended up cutting down the cable length on my Apple headphones and re-soldering the 3.5mm jack so that they are shorter. The short headphones that came with the bluetooth just become more unusable with time. Not for everyone, but a very easy way to get decent sound!

5Great Product.

I was initially looking for a slim audio cable to connect my iPhone to the AUX input in my car so that I can connect my phone without removing my phone's case. Then I thought it would be better if I can control my iPhone using some remote controller so that I can keep my eyes straight while driving. After some searching, I found this product and decided to give it a try since the price looks good.It was somewhat smaller and lighter than I expected and looks quite stylish.I wasn't sure if the audio transfer over Bluetooth would work well but to my surprise, it works quite well.I've used it on a daily basis for the last 2-3 weeks and so far I experienced only a couple of short glitches. Here are some of the enhancements that can be made for future versions:- The volume control is switched as other reviewers indicated (left is up / right is down).- Charging cable is unique and it would be good if we can use typical USB cables for this purpose.- Headphone jack and the charging cable slots are somewhat close to each other and it's not easy to put both the charging cable and my audio jack together unless you're using a slim audio cables.Overall, it's a great product and I highly recommend this product...

4Great product for the price!

Item received promptly. Smaller than expected, which is a plus for me; makes it convenient to place in pocket or clip on shirt etc.At first device doesn't show up in my phone's bluetooth list. You simply need to hold the Multi-Function button for a bit longer until the blue light stays solid blue (this indicates it is in pairing mode.) If the blue light comes up but only blinks, it is not in pairing mode. Once in pairing mode, it will show up in your phone's Bluetooth list.It took me a while to get it to go to pairing mode, just took patience and timing. Anyhow once you are in pairing mode, it was very simple from that point. Once all your devices have paired successfully there is no need to repeat the process of pairing to those devices again. Unless you removed the original pairing configs, then you have to repeat the pairing mode process again.I have this device paired successfully which my iPad3, Macbook Pro, iPhone 4, Galaxy S2 & Nexus 7. Works perfectly on all devices and volume control, play, pause, fast forward and rewind functions accordingly to each device.Sound quality is clear, some static depending on the distance you are from the source device. I haven't measured the exact distance, but I'm sure its mentioned some where is the manual ;).Anyhow for the price you can't go wrong. Its worth a try, worst case if you are not satisfied then just return it, simple as that!
