I rarely give 5-star reviews because I'm fairly hard to please. This headset earns a 5 from me for the following reasons:1) Has multi-point pairing for TWO cell phones (see the manual for how). Please note it won't, however, pair with a cell phone and a different type of device (at least not in my experience); I tried pairing this with my laptop and my cell phone and the laptop will not see the device. I did not try it in the reverse order, laptop first then cell phone, but I don't think it works that way either.2) The sound quality it pretty darn good. I use it to watch TV shows on Hulu on my laptop sometimes so I can keep the sound private and the sound is way better than laptop speakers. Yeah, I know that doesn't mean much, but it's also as good as my headphones.3) The charge. It lasts a LONG time. I kept the earphone on for more than 24 hours straight and used it for 6 hours of that time and it still was not completely dead. Charging is also very quick, I believe about an hour or a little more than that. (By comparison, my Kindle takes 3 HOURS unless I use it as it charges; my cell phone takes almost 3 hours as well.)4) Except for some minor static, the microphone is better than I expected. I can speak softly and everything is still picked up even though the mic sits at least 3 inches from my mouth with the ear loop connecting the earphone.5) Incredibly easy pairing with MY devices. The PIN code is announced (unless you turn off vocal announcements, which is necessary given how irritating it is -- goes on forever until you pair it), but I NEVER needed to enter it on either my laptop or my cell phone. The manual says it's automatic if you're using USB 2.1 (or higher I assume). That is what both of my devices are so no PIN needed. The manual is very to-the-point and accurate and the device is ultra easy to use. I've been surprised by how hard some manufacturers can make these things. Anyway, I'm very happy with it and it was free with Vine!

By R. Smith
I am using this with my iPhone 4 and thus far it seems to work fine. It arrived in a small box with the charger and an extra ear hook, and it also came with optional ear rubbers so you don't have to use the ear hook. I charged it overnight. I followed the simple directions, and it paired with my iPhone 4 without even having to enter the four digit pairing code. This is because some devices, like the iPhone, support an automatic pairing feature. The power button is a slider and is located so that you will not mistake it for the talk button. The volume up/down buttons also are distinct from the talk button, so I am not making any mistakes when I reach up to use it when it is over my ear. The talk button is easy to use. Press to answer or end call. Press and hold to reject an incoming call, or to place an existing call on hold, or to switch between two calls. The little LED on the side turns from Blue to Violet to Red to indicate how much power is left. You can turn on a feature called Voice Prompts that turns on by simply holding the Volume Up button for 3 seconds. I like this feature because it tells me if I turned power on or off, if a device is connected, if a call is terminated. With my iPhone, it automatically beeps in the ear set to indicate it is ready for me to speak the name of the person I want to call. I simply say, for example, "Call Home" and it automatically looks in my iPhone phone book for that number and dials it. So far, it has not had a problem with recognizing my voice and calling the correct number. Nice feature.I also own a Ford Escape which has the SYNC feature in it to allow me to use my iPhone hands free in the car. I can easily switch between using my car speakers or the Samsung HM1700 by simply hitting the Privacy button on my SYNC menu. Another cool feature.Another cool feature is that I can play my iTunes music directly into the HM1700 ear piece. Since it is only one earbud and mono, it makes more sense to use a nice pair of headphones for music, but it is nice to be able to listen to music through the HM1700.Now, the most important question is how good is the sound quality? Well, I talked from my car to people in an office, and they said it sounded fine. I also talked from my office to someone in their car, and they said it sounded fine. I had no problem hearing and understanding the party on the other end.

By Dark Vorona
No serious complaints about this Bluetooth. Seems to hold a charge well, and the sound is great.Bonus: It even picks up the music playing in my iPhone. My last Bluetooth didn't. Granted, the sound isn't as good as regular headphones or ear buds, but it's pretty nifty.Minus: While turning it on during a call (and I do that often), if I turn the device on I have to hear an annoying "Power On. Device Connected." which lasts for a few seconds -- and which mutes you and your caller. A few seconds of this is a pain.I have NO idea why Samsung thought that hearing some female saying this nonsense was better than a quick beep or something.Other than that, it's fine.
