Great IEMs for the price

These are a great pair of IEMs for the price (and are highly regarded value IEMs over at Head-Fi). I picked them up after misplacing my last pair of JBuds J2 IEMs (which I bought because I misplaced my JVC Marshmallows) right before my trip to Asia, and was glad that I did. These managed to block out most of the noise of the flight, and because they come with a two-prong adapter plug, you can use them on planes in place of the cruddy headphones the airlines give you too! Also included in the package are a total of 4 ear tips (try them all, they sound and fit different), a cable winder, and a carrying case, making it a awesomely concise little travel package.The sound (to my not-overly discerning ears) was great, though I did subject it to a 40-50 hour music burn-in before I even used them. The cabling looks good, and seems much more durable than any other IEMs I've used to date. One issue I do have though (and I consider it part of sound) is with the microphonics (hearing vibrations through the IEMs, a la stethoscopes), which can be pretty bad depending on how you wear these. If you wrap them over and behind your ears, this helps reduce the noise a lot, and even more so if you use the clip on the wires. But wear these under a hood, or have the wires tunnel under a jacket, and you can still hear all the vibrations.

Really Wanted to Like These

There is much to like here but ultimately this pair of headphones disappoints. Build quality/durability looks good, lots of good accessories, great price and surprisingly good sound. I would have given these a 4 or maybe even a five except for two things: Very difficult to achieve the correct seal of the earbud to get the bass response and more importantly, this specific pair has an imbalance in the output volume to each bud...these are right-side dominant and place the focus of the music at about the 1 o'clock position as opposed to the 12 o'clock. When I switched the right bud to the left ear and the left bud to the right ear, as suggested on the company website, the focus of the sound moved to the 11 o'clock position. I will not try to adjust to this because it is not correct. I have an email into the manufacturing and will see if they have any suggestions. As of this moment, I expect these will be going back and I will be out of the bud-earphone business. I tried a pair of V-Moda Vibes which look great but have a tinny, shrill timbre and absolutely ZERO bass response...maybe an off-pair but they are staged up for a return to Costco.

The sound is impressive for such a low price also good strong connectors and minimal cord resonance. Bundled in the package were a assortment of ear plugs a semihard case and cord caddy. Much more than you would expect for the price. If you purchase these you will be pleasently surprised at the sound and quality.
